We celebrated our independence (whatever that means anymore) with a big bang again this year. Splurging a bit at the fireworks stand and staying up till 11 lighting up our street with our neighbors. Grandpa, Gaga and "Uncle" Erik came over for the show, and boy was it a good one. Ethan, like his Daddy and Grandpa, gets this look of tremendous focus when he works on a project. It was funny watching him with the sparklers. He was so intensely focused when he was holding them that he could barely move his arms to make circles or even lines, then when he was done he'd RACE over to the water bucket to douse the "all dones" and then leap off the sidewalk in a giggling fit of excitement (see above photo) to come do some more silent unmoving sparklers.
