Well today was black friday and I once again managed to avoid spending entirely. I know the deals can be awesome but here are my thoughts.
Black friday is traditionally the day when retail companies move from the "red" to the "black", meaning that they begin making profits on their products today which is why they can offer such deals.
I cannot stand to be in a crowd, so I use this day to move myself in a more abstract manner from the "red" to the "black". I try to spend time on "black friday" gearing my heart up for the CHRISTmas holiday and the celebrations during the month of December. I know the true meaning of CHRISTmas. Instead of filling my cart with toys and treasures, and before I so much as buy one gift, sing one carol or put up a single decoration I spend some time today filling my heart with love and gratitude for God and for my family and friends.
Jesus is the reason for the season.
Love to all.
